About Me

My name is Caroline, and I am a junior at Emma Willard School. Growing up with a mother who has achieved heights in finance, a predominantly male field, I have always felt empowered to smash the patriarchy by building up a career and legacy of my own, and curious about what qualities make a strong and successful female leader. I am also incredibly passionate about social justice and being a member of Cluett House last year gave me the tools and an even stronger motivation to inspire positive world change in all that I do. Kirsten Gillibrand's campaign announcement also deeply inspired me to further pursue my interest in social justice, since a woman who grew up in the same hometown and attended the same school as I do now was making national headlines and demonstrated the courage to truly "shatter the glass ceiling." After attending a summer program at Barnard that centered around entrepreneurship, I found another passion in business and wanted to find a way to combine my interests. As a result, I developed my project, which is an exploration of women’s evolving role in government, business, and community, and how public policy, labor laws, and the workforce environment have been impacted as a result through the eyes of four inspirational local women.
