Year 2, October Post #1: About Me!

My name is Caroline, and my project is an exploration of women's evolving role in the workforce. I began this project last year, primarily focusing on women in communications and healthcare. I plan to expand my project to include women in politics as well as themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion in order to match the tone of this year. I am very passionate about both business and social justice, so this expansion of my project addresses more of my interests, and I am very excited to get started! Currently, I am planning to reach out to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand along with other local women who have championed social justice as well as more women in business who have achieved great heights in the Capital Region. I will conduct research on each of these women after sending out emails requesting interviews and potential shadowing experiences. Researching these women will allow me to ask more informed questions and make the most of the brief experiences I have with each of my interviewees. I hope to educate my school community on women's experience in traditionally male-dominated fields, particularly in business and politics, and empower more young women to enter these fields through my project.
